JudgeCall Terms of Service

Effective date: August 5, 2026 Last updated: August 5, 2026

Welcome to JudgeCall.

The JudgeCall website, mobile and desktop applications, online tools, application programming interfaces, and related products or services are collectively referred to as the “Service.” The Service is independently operated by the natural person located in the People’s Republic of China identified in the website filing information (“Operator,” “we,” or “us”).

Please read these Terms carefully before using the Service. Provisions concerning the nature of the Service, intellectual property, account action, disclaimers, limitation of liability, amendments, and dispute resolution may materially affect your rights and obligations.

By accessing, registering for, downloading, installing, or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms. If you do not agree, stop accessing or using the Service.

1. Scope

  1. These Terms apply to all JudgeCall services, including:
  • the JudgeCall website and subdomains;
  • rules, policies, card information, and tournament information browsing;
  • search and information-retrieval features such as IBIS;
  • LYNX and other tournament-management tools;
  • timers, match records, time-extension records, and other judge tools;
  • JudgeCall mobile, desktop, and other client software;
  • public or restricted APIs; and
  • downloads, sharing, exports, community interaction, and future features.
  1. Additional rules, page notices, license agreements, or event rules for a specific feature form part of these Terms. Where they conflict, the specific rules govern that feature.
  2. JudgeCall’s Privacy Policy also applies to personal-information processing.

2. Operator and Contact

  1. JudgeCall is independently operated by a natural person whose filing and principal place of operation are in the People’s Republic of China.
  2. Send feedback, complaints, intellectual-property notices, or other legal matters to support@judgecall.net.
  3. To verify a request, protect account security, or handle a dispute lawfully, we may request necessary proof of identity, ownership, or authorization.

3. Eligibility and Minors

  1. You must have the civil capacity required to use the Service and accept these Terms.
  2. Users under 18 must use the Service under a guardian’s guidance after the guardian has read and accepted these Terms.
  3. In principle, account registration or personal-information submission is not offered to children under 14. They must not independently register or submit personal information.
  4. If we learn that a child under 14 submitted personal information without guardian consent, we may delete it, restrict the account, or take other legally required action.

4. Accounts and Security

  1. Some features require no account. Others may require an account, third-party sign-in, or necessary information.
  2. Registration information must be truthful, accurate, complete, and kept current.
  3. You must not impersonate another person, judge, organization, or official event; use a deceptive or rights-infringing account name; sell, rent, lend, or transfer an account; or bulk-register accounts or evade registration and security controls through automation.
  4. Protect your credentials and take responsibility for actions through your account. Promptly contact us if an account is compromised or credentials are exposed.
  5. You bear responsibility under applicable law for losses caused by failing to protect account information, except losses caused by JudgeCall’s own security defect, intent, or gross negligence.

5. Nature of the Service

  1. JudgeCall is an information-retrieval and assistance platform for trading-card-game players, judges, tournament staff, and enthusiasts.
  2. It may provide indexed or translated game rules, tournament policies, release notes, and errata; card text and tournament information search; judging workflows, timers, time extensions, and match records; user-created decklists, records, and other content; and connections to third-party services or public data sources.
  3. Unless expressly labeled otherwise, translations, indexes, summaries, examples, search results, automatic matches, and user contributions are not official rulings from a game publisher or tournament organizer.
  4. If JudgeCall content conflicts with the latest official rules, policies, errata, release notes, or an authorized on-site ruling, the official document or authorized decision controls.
  5. JudgeCall does not replace a judge’s independent assessment of facts, rules, and policy in a specific match. Do not rely solely on the Service for decisions affecting results, eligibility, penalties, or appeal rights.

6. License to Use the Service

  1. Subject to these Terms, we grant a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable right to use the Service for personal study and reference; lawful judging, event organization, or play; expressly provided download, export, and sharing features; and documented public APIs.
  2. Unless expressly allowed or authorized in writing, you must not copy, sell, rent, sublicense, or commercially provide the Service; create a complete or substantial mirror; remove or alter rights notices; bypass payment, permission, authentication, rate, or technical restrictions; maliciously reverse engineer, attack, tamper with, or damage the Service; or use it unlawfully or to infringe another’s rights.
  3. This section does not restrict conduct that applicable law expressly permits and does not allow contract terms to exclude.

7. APIs, Automation, and Scraping

  1. Public API use must follow its documentation, authentication, rate, and data-use rules.
  2. Without permission, you must not access undisclosed interfaces; conduct high-frequency or large-scale automated access; evade rate limits, CAPTCHAs, authentication, or access controls; impose unreasonable server load; bulk-copy, resell, redistribute, or create a substantially identical database service; or use obtained data for unlawful surveillance, harassment, discrimination, fraud, or infringement of personal-information rights.
  3. We may adjust, restrict, or discontinue interfaces for security, stability, copyright, data-source, or compliance reasons, with advance notice where reasonably practicable.

8. User Content

  1. “User Content” includes decklists, event information, judging records, articles, comments, translations, images, feedback, corrections, and other content submitted, created, stored, uploaded, published, or shared through the Service.
  2. You retain your lawful rights in User Content; submission does not transfer ownership to us.
  3. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license, limited to what is necessary to provide, store, display, synchronize, moderate, share, and improve the Service, including storage, copying, format conversion, display, and transmission.
  4. This license is solely for operating and providing the Service. We will not sell non-public User Content without separate authorization unless the law provides otherwise.
  5. You represent that you may submit the content; it does not infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, reputation, personal-information, or other rights; you obtained required permissions for personal information, event materials, images, and protected content; and it complies with law and these Terms.
  6. After deletion or account closure, we will delete or anonymize content within a reasonable time, except where retention is legally required, needed for complaints, disputes, or security incidents, already lawfully shared or independently saved by others, or held in backups from which item-level deletion is not immediately possible.

9. Acceptable Use

You must not use the Service to:

  1. violate the laws of the People’s Republic of China or endanger national security, public security, or public interests;
  2. disclose state, work, commercial, or other legally protected secrets;
  3. infringe intellectual property, personal-information, privacy, reputation, portrait, or other lawful rights;
  4. publish fraudulent, false, defamatory, insulting, threatening, harassing, hateful, obscene, gambling-related, or otherwise unlawful or harmful material;
  5. distribute malware or content that may compromise devices, networks, or data;
  6. send spam, phish, defraud, run illegal advertising, or conduct unsolicited promotion;
  7. interfere with servers, networks, accounts, APIs, or another user’s access;
  8. steal accounts, access systems without authorization, or test vulnerabilities without permission;
  9. cheat or facilitate cheating, or falsify match records, judging records, rankings, results, or event qualifications;
  10. impersonate JudgeCall, a publisher, tournament organizer, official judge, or third party;
  11. deliberately present automated search results, translations, or summaries as official rules or rulings; or
  12. otherwise abuse the Service or evade these Terms.

10. Moderation and Unlawful Content

  1. We may lawfully review public content under these Terms, but do not undertake to pre-screen every submission.
  2. For suspected illegality, infringement, security risk, or violation, we may restrict visibility or access, remove or block content, restrict features, suspend or terminate an account, retain necessary records, and report or disclose information to competent authorities as required by law.
  3. Except for urgent security events, clear illegality, or where notice is prohibited, we will provide the main reason where reasonably practicable.
  4. You may appeal an action by sending relevant evidence to the contact address.

11. Intellectual Property and Unofficial Status

  1. Rights in the JudgeCall name, marks, site design, interface, code, original documents, search technology, data structures, and other independently created material belong to the Operator or relevant rightsholder.
  2. Rights in game names, marks, card names, card images, characters, artwork, rules documents, and other game assets belong to their publishers, creators, or other rightsholders.
  3. JudgeCall is an independently developed and operated unofficial community project. Unless expressly stated in writing, it is not affiliated with, acting for, authorized, sponsored, or endorsed by Legend Story Studios, Flesh and Blood, another game publisher, tournament organizer, or brand owner.
  4. Third-party game material is shown for rules reference, commentary, research, indexing, and community service; JudgeCall does not claim ownership.
  5. Use is also subject to rightsholder policies, license terms, and applicable law. We will assess and lawfully respond to valid removal, modification, or attribution requests.
  6. Outside expressly provided sharing, quotation, or download features, users must not exploit third-party game material for infringing copies, sales, counterfeiting, misleading promotion, or unauthorized commercial activity.

12. Intellectual-Property Complaints

  1. Rightsholders may send a written notice to the contact address.
  2. It should identify the rightsholder or agent and contact details, proof of rights, the exact location, reasons for the claim, and a statement that the notice is truthful and accurate.
  3. We will review a compliant notice and take reasonable lawful action.
  4. A person sending a malicious, false, or erroneous notice is responsible under law for resulting losses.

13. Third-Party Services and Links

  1. The Service may include third-party sites, sign-in, cloud services, pricing, card databases, payment channels, social platforms, or other services.
  2. They are independently provided and governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
  3. A link or integration is not a warranty or endorsement.
  4. To the extent permitted by law, the responsible third party bears losses caused by its independent acts. JudgeCall remains responsible where applicable law assigns responsibility for fault in selecting, integrating, or managing that service.

14. Paid Features, Donations, and Third-Party Transactions

  1. Some or all features may be free. Before introducing paid features, subscriptions, or memberships, we will disclose price, content, duration, renewal, cancellation, and refund rules.
  2. Rules on the purchase page form part of these Terms.
  3. A voluntary donation or sponsorship does not purchase a particular product or service unless expressly promised.
  4. Card prices, market data, product links, and third-party transaction information are references only, not offers, valuations, investment advice, or guarantees of authenticity.
  5. Users and third-party merchants remain responsible for their transactions unless JudgeCall is a party or otherwise legally responsible.

15. Personal Information and Data Security

  1. We process personal information under applicable law and the Privacy Policy.
  2. Processing follows principles of lawfulness, legitimacy, necessity, and good faith, for clear and reasonable purposes, with safeguards appropriate to risk.
  3. The Privacy Policy describes categories, purposes, retention, third-party sharing, and how rights may be exercised.
  4. Users must not unlawfully collect, disclose, sell, or process another person’s information.
  5. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. We will take remedial, notification, and reporting steps required by law for an actual or potential breach, tampering, loss, or security incident.

16. Changes, Interruption, and Termination

  1. We may update, adjust, suspend, or end the Service to maintain security, fix faults, update rules, change features, or comply with law.
  2. We will provide advance notice where reasonably practicable for changes or long-term suspension that may materially affect user rights.
  3. We may act immediately for a vulnerability, attack, or emergency; clear illegality or serious abuse; third-party rights risk; a legal or authority requirement; or force majeure and events beyond reasonable control.
  4. Users may stop using the Service, delete content, or request account closure through available methods.
  5. Intellectual-property, liability, dispute, and other provisions that by nature survive remain effective after termination.

17. Disclaimer

  1. To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.”
  2. We work to maintain accuracy, stability, and security but do not guarantee uninterrupted, delay-free, or error-free operation; complete, current, or absolutely accurate rules, translations, results, card, or event information; suitability for every purpose; continuous availability of third-party sources; or truthfulness and legality of User Content.
  3. Rules, policies, errata, and release notes may change. Check the publisher’s latest official materials before a ruling or other important decision.
  4. We will reasonably assist with issues caused by devices, networks, browsers, operating systems, third-party interfaces, or other matters beyond our reasonable control, but do not accept responsibility beyond our own legal responsibility.
  5. Nothing excludes liability that law does not permit us to exclude.

18. Limitation of Liability

  1. Each party is responsible according to its fault and applicable law.
  2. To the extent permitted by law, JudgeCall is not liable for indirect loss, lost profit, loss of goodwill, or match-decision loss caused by failure to verify official rules, except where caused by our intent or gross negligence.
  3. JudgeCall does not assume liability beyond what law requires for User Content, third-party services, or independent transactions.
  4. Nothing excludes or limits liability for personal injury or property loss caused by intent or gross negligence; infringement of personal-information, intellectual-property, or other non-excludable rights; or any other liability law does not permit a contract to exclude.
  5. A user who violates law, these Terms, or third-party rights and directly harms the Operator is responsible for compensation proportionate to the user’s fault and the reasonable loss actually caused.

19. Amendments

  1. We may amend these Terms for feature, legal, or operational changes.
  2. Material changes will be explained through a prominent page notice, in-service notice, or another appropriate method.
  3. We will obtain renewed consent where law requires it.
  4. Updated Terms apply from their stated effective date. If you disagree, stop using the relevant Service or close your account.
  5. Matters arising before an amendment are generally governed by the version then effective, unless law or a separate agreement provides otherwise.

20. Notices

  1. We may send notices through site announcements, in-service messages, registered email, app notifications, or another reasonable method.
  2. Important notices about interruption, security risk, account action, Terms updates, or user rights will be reasonably prominent.
  3. Keep contact details current. Failure to receive a notice because they were not updated does not invalidate a notice lawfully and reasonably sent.

21. Governing Law and Disputes

  1. Formation, validity, interpretation, performance, and disputes are governed by the laws of mainland People’s Republic of China.
  2. The parties should first seek an amicable resolution.
  3. If unresolved, either party may bring proceedings before a competent People’s Court of the People’s Republic of China.
  4. This does not affect mandatory consumer or user rights to complain, report, litigate, or seek other remedies.

22. Miscellaneous

  1. Headings are for convenience only.
  2. Invalid, illegal, or unenforceable provisions do not affect the remainder.
  3. Delay in exercising a right is not a waiver.
  4. Users may not assign rights or obligations without written consent. If the lawful website operator changes, we will notify users and protect their lawful rights.
  5. A separately agreed, non-standard term on a specific page prevails over a conflicting standard term.
  6. The Chinese version is the primary version. Where language versions differ, the Chinese version controls to the extent permitted by applicable law.
